Making a Difference

Making a Difference

Information Resource

We bring the conversation to the community every year at our Smaltz Foundation Alzheimer’s Symposium.   Here we bring together medical professionals, care thought leaders, and legal specialists to offer resources, information and answers to families and caregivers.

Respite Care

Alzheimer’s care centers provide caregivers a temporary rest from caregiving, while the person with Alzheimer's continues to receive care in a safe environment. We advocate and give support to families to use respite services for short relief and to strengthen their abilities to be caregivers.

Supporting Research

The Smaltz Foundation knows that we have to support research.  In addition to being part of the community supporting care we also look to provide fellowship grants to clinical fellows attending the Alzheimer’s disease and Memory Disorders Center at Baylor College of Medicine.  This is our way of engaging young doctors to recognize the importance of this sector of medicine.
